my essays are gr8 i guess and my recc's are cool too. do u think marlboro offers aid to internationals. frankly i can't affor more than $4,000
thanx

Don't know about Marboro, but Grinnell offers financial aid to international students. I don't believe they guarantee it, however. But there are quite a number of international students at Grinnell who rec'd financial or merit aid.

I would also like to know my chances for merit-based aid and admission to Grinnell. I live in Iowa so the SAT I and SAT II's are not stressed; most people don't take either.

ACT - 32 (35 Reading, 34 English, 32 Math, 28 Science, 10/12 Writing)
SAT - 1430 or so, I've only taken it once and without studying.
GPA - 3.81, 5th in a class of 65, top 10%
PSAT index score - 213, in Iowa that means either a National Merit Commended or Semifinalist
National Honor Society Treasurer
Mentored a 7th grader and helped with homework for many hours.
Upward Bound Math & Science program Valedictorian, Outstanding Student award in Physics and Technical Writing.

Taken the hardest classes I could, once I graduate I'll have taken AP Physics, AP Chemistry, an AP English course etc.

Please let me know what my odds are of a good merit-based scholarship at Grinnell!

Grinnell's not so generous with internation students. I believe they cap aid to half-tuition for most students, and give a few exceptional applicants full tuition.

Iowan: Grinnell's financial aid will probably come through for you.
