Most likely will be National Merit Scholar Finalist (PSAT: 221)

Do I have a good shot at Vandy? I plan on visiting over the summer!

You are a great fit for Vanderbilt and not only should you get in, but you may get some awesome merit aid. I know an engineering student, with similar stats to you, and he got a scholarship that lowered his total price of Vanderbilt to $22,000.

I think you need to improve your test scores to be competitive for merit aid.

To quote the Vandy website about scholarship recipients: "They typically scored above 1500 on the SAT-I and/or above 34 on the ACT. " Everyone we know who received merit aid met that criteria.

The link is: http://www.vanderbilt.edu/FinancialAid/awdschlp.htm

I am assuming that you think I have a pretty good shot of getting in, right?
Personaly, I don't think that I will any merit aid besides the $5,000 award Vandy offers to all National Merit Finalists who whose Vandy as their first choice school. My EFC is pretty low, and Vandy has pretty good financial aid, so I am just hoping that $5000 scholarship will take care of some of my student loans.
Thanks

You're in, but like another poster said, you're scores need to be better for merit scholarships.

I got a 1460/2210 on my SAT!
