Counselor recommendation: awesome

Essays: very good

My cousin went to Brown University and Brown Medical School and he is going to write the university a letter of recommendation. (Alumni relationship)

RATE ME PLEASE!

Wow our school has not a single one of those clubs except for key club... and thats a joke. I am tied for rank 1... so rank 2. Your GPA is good and so are your scores (kinda average but still good. After 2200 it usually comes down to your EC's etc.). You kind of seem average to a bit higher than average. But Man We have no thing like FBLA or Math honors or science honors or a governor's school... i really hate my school after seeing college confidential. They don't care at all for the student and I can't go anywhere else around me.

Your cousin's letter probably won't help at all. Adcoms routinely ignore those kinds of things. On the other hand, your excellent class rank and GPA, and your good SAT scores, along with your teacher and counselor recommendations should help a great deal. Figure you have a better than average chance of acceptance. It's not guaranteed, of course. It never is with any of the Ivies. So, make sure you apply to matches and safeties as well just in case.

You have amazing stats, and certain advantages...URM of course

But family members writing recommendations...bit biased is it not? Your EC's are average, but I think you have a very good chance of getting in.

pakistanis are URM???

No they are not lol... They are asians and if you say pakistanis are URM that makes no sense..

So what...anyone from Asia can't be a URM? 60% of the world's population is from Asia...

Pakistan seems to be one of the underrepresented Asian countries IMO.

How so? Just because you don't hear about the country too much... or because you see a smart "indian looking" kid doesn't mean that all those other countries are underrepresnted. There probably is a lot... and i am pretty sure URM applies to african americans and hispanics and native americans the most..

Pretty good chances.

Your ECs are mediocre, but service, scores and rank are good enough. You have a good shot.

Psh MEDIOCRE EC's... yeah I don't think so. If you're very involved with them then how are they mediocre? They're like like "WOAHHHHH SUPERSTARR KID HERE" but I think they are good.CC has a very skewed perspective imo

i think the ECs would be better if you had more leadership -- they don't show any committment. just some random clubs that you to meetings every once in awhile doesn't say too much.

more comments please
