What are my chances at Brown?

any other recomendations for colleges would be nice.

also i may be a tennis recruit at any of these except Vanderbuilt but i would like you to ASSUME THAT I AM NOT a recruit when evaluating my chances. thanks

Your scores are fine, your rank is a tad low but fine, your grades/gpa are a bit low but won't disqualify you. Your activities (esp. tennis) seem very good. If you get recruited for tennis, your shots seem very good; without it, they will be pretty good but not great.

hey man, i realized u were kinda worried, so i e-mailed my friend working at Brown, and i asked her what she thinks.
this is her reply,

Dear A*,
I have read the post you have recently sent me, and I agree withyou, he is a bit paranoid. Someone with his qualifications would surely be accepted into Brown, but he may not fit in, and based on that, I would place his application into my "cabinet". You should inform this student that he is at a particular disadvantage, because of his race and his geographic location. He does not seem focused on anything but academics, even though he "volunteers", he has no dedication to one individual program. He should be informed that we at Brown are looking for depth, not breadth. He just doesn't stand out in my mind, so it will depend on ONE fact, do we need anyone from Alabama to meet our quota? It was a pleasure talking to you agian, and I look forward to meeting you agian this week.
Regards,

ok, that was her letter, i hope it puts your mind at ease

That letter sort of doesn't make sense. It says "surely accepted" but then says "maybe not." I also disagree with it; I had a lot of breadth but less depth in my activities (I love doing lots of things but am not strictly focused on one) and I still got in. And I think the applicant has LOTS of depth in tennis.

my god, obvious all ofyour people are so obsessed... i was surpirised to see that noone told me there is noone by that name at brown... i made that letter up
mostly for humor... oh well... it was intended to be contradictory, i mean i didnt want thepoor kid to go into depression over it
