What are my chances for CAS? I have a 30 ACT (33 M, 32 E, 31 S, 24 R), 3.494 Weighted GPA (measured on 4.5 scale), 200+ hrs of volunteer work at hospital, president of local Indian-American youth group, lots of other EC’s as well. Lots of AP’s: Physics and Euro. History (10th); Calc AB, Eng. Language, US History (11th), Calc BC, Biology, Eng. Literature, Spanish Lang. (12th). I am also out-of-state (from Michigan).

Chances??

Your GPA is a bit low…3.4/4.5? However, a pretty good ACT score and applying ED will help a little. I’d say you have a decent chance, maybe 40-50% chance of acceptance.

Your GPA is low but your APs make up for the GPA. Make sure to send in your AP scores and indicate any AP scholar awards if you have any.

Chances this year are really unpredictable but don’t worry you’re definitely not an unqualified applicant. I talked with an admissions officer and she said that if you have very strong course rigor, then you wouldn’t get rejected. Either deferred or accepted. So you won’t get rejected.

Also out-of-state doesn’t really help your chances. BU is a private university. A lot of students from the area do apply to the school though.

tl;dr - You won’t get rejected. Accepted/deferred who knows.
