Chances at Choate, Exeter, Andover?

No one is going to respond to this but here goes
My BS History:
I have a genius brother who went to Exeter and got accepted to every prestigious university imaginable. Not my first time applying to boarding schools but when I applied before I was naieve. I had the mentality, "Oh I’m one of the smartest kids in my school I don’t need to try and dress properly in my interview, Oh no one cares about the essay they don’t even read it I’ll just not try, oh my 63 percentile SSAT will be fine as long as I make it up with good recommendations (which I wasted due to my horrible application). I’ve learned and had a lot of growth over the past 2 years and realized that I still believe I would fit at a BS compared to my school and it’s worth a shot.

Note: I didn’t apply to Exeter, Andover, or Choate before.and applying for junior year
My grades are normal but I hope my EC’s will give me a boost.

“Stats”
All A grades in honors and AP classes. I got a 5 on an AP exam.
No standardized test scores because my testing center closed.
EC’s
Co-Chairman/Founder of HS Dems for President Joe B. (National Organization with over a 1000 members?

Member of an expansion committee of High School Dems of America
Captain of Diving Team School/ Club

Other Stuff which I don’t think is as important as what I have listed above

Awards:
Only one but I’m still proud of it

Also I’m gonna apply for FA just because it will be less of a burden and I may qualify for something but I am definitely not in a full ride situation.

Take it from this Reaganite Dad-type: You have a great chance, but maybe apply as a repeat 10th grader, and BE OPTIMISTIC. Pessimism will get you nowhere, either in BS admissions or in the rest of your life.

Not enough info to chance you. Your club sports will give you a boost (are there BS dive teams?) but are you prepared to give up club sports or be limited because schools won’t let you off campus 3 times per week to go to club practice? Or you just have too much work to make that doable?

Yes. If the school has a swim team, they almost always have a dive team. And since there are few who come to a BS with a diving background, that can be an asset

Got it. I thought you needed a deeper pool for diving making it more rare. OP Totally agree that it’s a boost if you do it well and the schools you are interested in have teams.

I’m not sure about Choate and Exeter but I know that Andover has a solid diving team. If I get accepted anywhere I would be dropping my other activities and pursue similar ones at a BS.

There are 35 US boarding schools with diving teams. The 3 schools you’ve mentioned are on that list.

I have no insight as to how competitive they are. But yes, you’d have to adjust because swimming/diving are only winter season.
