Chances at CSOM

*I know, at this point, a “chance” thread is basically pointless but I couldn’t help my self!

Rank (percentile if rank is unavailable): 71/250 unfortunately because of my low freshman grades.

Job/Work Experience/Volunteer/Community service:

I work(ed) for/with various local → state politicians, including at one point the Comptroller of NYC. I helped in various campaigns, political events, fund raisers etc, interviewed as part of a campaign of one of said politicians. Received a rec. from high ranking politician, I read it over and it rocked.

I’m currently involved in a TV Pilot so this is my “current job”. This was noted in my application.

Summer Activities: TV Show things/Worked with politicians on campaigns as noted above.

Intended focus: Management/Leadership

Essays:
Personal Statement: Very very interesting way I wrote it, I don’t want to go into specifics about the structure but it was very different. About my “life story” per say and how I realized exactly what I wanted to do. I was told by multiple professionals and peers that it was one of the best they’ve ever read.

Teacher Recommendation: Both hopefully good.

Counselor Rec: He really likes me and noted how I helped my peers with their applications.

Additional Rec: Stated above.

Additional points: I connected my interest in politics to business throughout my app. A major part of my application is the “crazy”, for lack of a better word, changes I’ve made to my life. In school, outside of school etc. This was integrated into my essay. I lost 52 pounds amongst other things.

@ds0501:
This is pretty funny. Only a few short month ago you started a thread on how “chance me” threads were worthless, and then gave your reasoning to defend your argument.

http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/college-admissions/1703402-chance-threads-are-pointless.html#latest

They are in fact worthless. A chance thread won’t do sh*t in the long run nor does it mean anything BUT that doesn’t stop me from being interested In other people’s opinions does it? The issue with chance threads is that sometimes people take them too seriously or seriously at all. In those instances, chance threads have the potential to become problematic. @jpm50‌

@ds0501 it would be more valid if u wrote that in the original topic then instead of changing ur opinion and being hypocritical now. honestly, what do u get from us telling u our opinion of ur chances. that u have a high chance of getting in? more confidence? im not against chance threads. i say take it with a grain of salt but i think its stupid to condemn those who make chance threads only to do one urself and make an unjustificable reasoning as to why you’re doing it…

so honestly i see no point in us chancing u now if we can only judge it off stats as you said in that topic…
