Chances at csulb

I just got rejected from sdsu kinda bummed out but oh well my fault.
CSU GPA: 3.52
SAT: 1280/1600
My friend got rejected at csulb and we had similar stats so I don’t know why. My major will be electrical engineer, but I am kinda scared right now since it might be another rejection.

Are you in the local service area?

Unfortunately, no.
Would it be a reach school? The only other reasonable match school I applied to ucr.

I actually got in for electrical engineering with a slightly higher(like .1) CSU gpa and 20 more on the sat. Although, my sat was the older one.

Did you apply to any safeties?

I got into ASU and waiting for ucr. Would ucr be a safety or a reach.

UCR would be a Match not a Safety.

Well I got waitlisted at both ucr and ucsc. Should I apply for a CC and transfer out? I don’t think I have a chance at Pomona and Long Beach considering I got waitlisted in schools in the same tier

12to14man I think that you may have chances. UCs are more competitive and arent at the same tier as cal states. As a matter of fact by getting waitlisted at both UCs you applied, it seems that you do have potential to get in. So dont lose hope. (:

Well… Looks like I got wait listed. Is it too late to apply to a CC like Palomar?

You should apply to a CC like Palomar or Mira Costa (which is better in my opinion - my son took classes there while in High School and the teachers were excellent). However, don’t loose hope; you may get in off the waitlist for LB as many kids apply to it, but never intend on going as it is their safety school. Many students got in off the waitlist last year. You will just have to wait until after May 1. Best of luck to you!
