Chances at Elon

I live within walking distance of Elon and I study at their library a whole lot. With your girlfriend's credentials, I think Elon is a very realistic school. This may sound cliche, but a deferral is NOT a rejection. The 4.0 weighted GPA should definitely weigh in her favor (no pun intended, hehe).

Burlington is not a very exciting town but there's always Chapel Hill if you get bored. Elon also has a bunch of really great speakers that come to campus--Queen Noor of Jordan, Walter Cronkite, John Irving... just to name a few. Plus it's only about a 45 minutes away from Duke.

She loves elon, there's no question about that, getting in is the only question. If she got an additional reccomendation, after the deferal from her calculus teacher, who didn't write her original recomendation but now knows her well, could that help just as far as further evidence of her success as well as indicitating she is still strongly interested or is that worthless?

please respond if you have any suggestions!!!

It may be a good idea for HER to contact admissions and ask the question regarding what else may help her get accepted - sometimes they can be very specific about what can be submitted and what they will consider - would not hurt at least.

isnt ELon like a saftey school

^^may be for some - but for others it could be a reach also:)
