chances at George Washington/NYU?

Hey, I was just wondering about my chances at George Washington and at NYU. Im from a very competitive public school in Mass. (top 10 in the state) I have a 3.65 GPA and am in the top 15% of my class. I got 730 math 730 verbal 660 writing on SAT(2120 total). SAT II i got 720 on math I and 660 on US History. Extra Curriculars include varsity football 4 years, captain. varsity volleyball 2 years. participated in harvard model UN and a UMass model un. treasurer/co-founder of Youth & Government club. participated on a community service team for two years. coached a youth basketball team for three years. work experience as a lifeguard. Ive also received many athletic awards, two community service awards, and a few academic awards.

any ideas?

Both are safe matches.

GWU - Match (unless you apply to Elliot)
NYU - Match

Which school would you apply to at NYU?

Unless he's going for Stern, he shouldn't have too hard of a time.

how much harder is stern?

Stern is very difficult to get into. My S is a freshman there and when we went lat year to the Breakfast in the Square Saturday, the Dean told us that the SAT's of that group were the highest ever for Stern and the highest for all the schools. I think that they must first select via SAT's and then consider the rest of the application. Otherwise, how could they go through all those applications (I don't know how many for Stern specifically this year but there were over 35,000 apps for all of NYU).

The other NYU schools are difficult to get into also. Out of five kids who applied from my S & D's HS this year, only one was accepted into their program and the others were GSP'd. These are students who are comparable to bballjoe in terms of ec's and awards. Don't know about their SAT's.

Bballjoe seems very well qualified but in these times, one never knows! It is truly tough!
