I was also in National Honor Society, part of the school newspaper, held another leadership position, attended a summer program at Yale and USC, and am fluent in English, Spanish, French, and Arabic. I also attend a very prestigious catholic high school in DC. Have a YouTube channel as well as doing interviews with local artists to build a resume for a journalism major. I did poorly at the beginning of high school but I bounced back what are my chances at getting in?
Your GPA may be your downfall. While your ECs are unique and interesting, I’m not sure if it’ll offset USC, a school that received thousands of applicants with better GPA than yours. The upward trend should definitely help though.
Fortunately, USC is very holistic in its admissions and you sound super interesting. With your background, I am sure you will put together a wonderful application - do your best and show them why you are an interesting fit for USC so they see beyond you lower scores. Not sure I understand your senior year gpa since it is just starting…but good luck!
Also, best thing to do is read this still very relevant thread:
