<p>Keep in mind that many here do not have the intent of busrsting your bubble. Come April (or Dec.) we would be much happier to see a happy ending at Cornell or Duke or Brown than another disillusioned HYP applicant.</p>

<p>It's obviously your choice, but I think that's a lousy way to choose a school. Harvard's my first choice as well, and I've always been discouraged when people complain about the kids who go just for the name because I personally think it's just a great academic fit for me. You'll either get in, or you won't. Nothing anyone here tells you about your "hooks" (a tough family situation!?) will change anything.</p>
<p>Regardless, best of luck come fall. Frankly, we'll all need it.</p>
