Help!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

They are good. NY and URM preferences should be enough.

My d is completing her first semester in ILR and will be home tomorrow. She's really happy with the program and life at Cornell. I think your chances are very good but to clinch it for you I suggest 2 things. Visit the campus and go to the ILR info session. I believe the session is M-F at 2:30. As ILR is one of the smaller schools, the info session is run by one of the ILR admission counselors. They are the ones who decide who gets in and who doesn't. At this stage of the game with your stats and background, I think personal contact is the best way to go. I truly believed that is what helped my daughter get in. The day of her "tour", there were only 2 other kids. She asked questions, seemed interested and she said the other 2 didn't ask any questions. Trust me -your enthusiasm about ILR and interest will go along way. Also study their website. ILR is a very specific program. You must take courses during your first 2 years including Labor History- Organizational Behavior etc. Take the time to familiarize yourself with the program. If you are from the NYC area, you can take the Shortline/Coach bus directly from Port Authority to the campus. Hope this info helps and good luck.

I am part of an early identification program for minorities in ILR. Is this a good way to show my interest?

Yes, thats an excellent way to show your interest. You should be receiving a fee wavier from them. Make sure you get in contact with Bryan Nance; you probably have received letters from him. He is the minority affairs advisor in ILR and generally a nice guy. He is also the same guy that will read your application and it won't hurt to email him and "express" your interest in Cornell.

Good luck

I recently emailed it him about my interests in the school and my appreciation for the fee waiver. How are my chances looking?

I think u should be in

Do you really think so? I wasn't sure if my activities were good enough to show my interest in industrial and labor relations

dude no one has an "interest" in ILR off the bat that they can show from high school actvities. What matters is that you are a solid student in ALL areas and are effectively able to express why you want to attend. Also, make sure your essays are awesome. I have had conversations with many people who read applications for ILR and I can't stress how important they are. Essays can really make or break you.

I wrote my common app essay on my parent's native country of haiti and i thought my 2 other essays really showed my interest in the school.

I sent my app about 2 weeks ago. Will I be getting a decision in February or after?

You sound like a good app. Just be ready to READ READ and READ some more. They dont call it "I Love Reading" for nothing :-b

looks good to me, good luck :)

That totally depends on the order in which your application gets forwarded to them (which might not be in the order in which it was received). I would be surprised if you don't hear anything by early March though. Your chances look good so I wouldn't worry much.

Just make sure to include that AIM screenname. Then you're a shoo-in.
JK.

Your chances are very good. I'm applying also.

lol maybe i should.

Are my grades for first quarter going to hurt me. I expect around the same grades for second quarter

AP Psychology 92
AP English 94
AP Economics 91
Spanish 4H 92
AP Calculus AB 86
AP Physics B 88

Average - 90.5

The only reason my overall average is so low is because of physics and calculus. Does it help that these subjects have little to do in my major?

nahh man, you're doing fine.

yeah, you still look good to get in. Your essays sounds good. And they value martial arts: one of the top TKD teams in the nation. Hope to see you there!
