Academics:
I'm a freshman at a college prep high school that's one of the top in my state. I have a 4.0 GPA and improving. There are no AP classes available until junior year, but I plan to take several. I'm in Algebra II now, so by senior year I'll be in AP Calculus BC. Also, I'm a member of American Mensa. I've already started studying for the SATs and ACT, in addition to taking the PSAT.

ECs:
I lettered on the varsity cheerleading squad for football and I'm on JV cheerleading for basketball (it's different coach who doesn't allow varsity freshmen). I'm in the math and science club, yearbook, spirit club, and drama club. I know I can definitely improve a little here and I'm considering Academic Challenge. Any recommendations?

Volunteering:
I lend a hand at the local Food Bank on occasion and I'm planning on volunteering at a local hospital over the next few summers. I've also done some volunteering at a nursing home.

Other:
Over the summer I'm going to an educational program of some kind for gifted students in my state. I was going to go to a program at Columbia or Brown, but my parents didn't go for it. (Paying for college isn't a problem or anything, though.)

When I turn sixteen I'm going to be getting a part-time job.

In addition, I can be considered part Native American because of portion of my mother's side of heritage.

For the most part, I know that there must be some things that I can do to help improve my chances. Does anyone have any suggestions?
