Good chance at Yale? or Harvard or Princeton?

If those are all your ECs then your chances don't look so good at the high ivies. Try the University of Phoenix Online. From their ad on TV it looks like they have this great program where you learn by getting sucked into your computer while funky music plays in the background.

But seriously. You're strong but typical for those schools. Maybe there's something you're leaving out? No, I don't mean:

thanks for the reply
ummm i believe my math is exceptionally strong, i live in nyc and im ranked like top 10 in the city for the math competions and i took BC cal when i was a junior (i got a 5) and i took AP stat (i got a 4 =() . im ranked 1st for golf in NYC for 4 years. my essays are ok, not great. and i have a lot of ecs but i type slow and im lazy. lol but as u said its all very typical

Your math is exceptionally strong? What kind of results in contests do you have? I mean, unless you are an USAMO qualifier, or have some other amazing results, exceptional is a bit of an overstatement.

If I were you I would add more schools right under HYPM, like Columbia, Duke, etc. Just in case you don't get into one of those at least you have some choices.

I think you are in the running for all of your schools but they are all very selective as you know and depending on what the adcoms get this year will really be the determining factor at each of those schools. I suggest you add a few schools with higher admit rates such as Vanderbilt or Emory. Also get that SUNY app or some other school that could be a safety. You may not need this but you just never know how the college scene turns out this year.

hm, i think they will all be reaches for you. lots of ppl take BC calc when they are juniors, some even take them when they are sophomores (most of my friends did). Find some more extracurriculars, or keep pushing the math more.

i would apply to more colleges but my school has only 1 college counseler for 680 kids! i can only apply to 6 non sunys. soooooo. Like what should I do? im going all out. any advice?

HYP are reaches for everyone no matter what your scores are, because there are just not enough seats. Take into consideration that last year 56,462 people applied to these 3 schools and only 5855 were admitted, for approximately 3500 acceptances, because they know that everyone who was admitted is not going to attend.

Look at Dartmouth, who enrolled a particulary large class this year in comparison to other years and are looking to change so that they don't enroll more than 1000 students per year.

Your EC's not to far reaching outside of academics, and it is my guess that no school is banging down your door to play golf.

Your school profile is really going to come into play in determining how you rank up against others in your school . (If you attend stuyvesant, that may be a good thing because Cornell likes stuy they took a large number of stuy kids. By the same token Princeton said that they haven't done a good job or reaching out to Stuy kids and are trying to improve that.) The net-net is that there are so many variables to take into consideration. You state that you hate grammar, suffice it to say if you hatred of grammar comes through on your essay in the form of error, you will be dead in the water.

For example, you have cornell on your list. Cornell had over 20,000 applications , admitted 6130 of which 3093 enrolled.

I don't think that any one is slamming you but if what if any one could predict with any real accuracy what someones chances were, we would not be posting on the CC, but getting paid for the knowledge.

As far as chances, there is only one certainty that anyone can give you, If you don't apply you have a 100% chance of not being admitted. With that in mind, throw caution to the wind, but make sure that you have a safety school. all the best
