Chances at LAC's

FWIW, when I said, that Wesleyan was a pretentious little college, I meant in terms of institutional goals (an LAC trying to maintain university-like depth and breadth), it wasn't meant as a judgment on anyone's personality or character. :p

Got it, Johnwesley!

The thing about fit is that a school that seems perfect now could very well feel a little snug in 3-4 years. I like the idea of choosing a school that's a bit baggy, with plenty of room to grow. Then again, I do appreciate the idea of comfort...

Anybody have an opinion on Bard vs. Brandeis?

Academically I'd say they are very similar. Both are selective and rigourous. Brandeis is more prestigious, but I heard it is quite boring there. The Bard Rugby team was telling me about it...3 or 4 of them had gotten in there but had hated it when they visited. One was going to transfer there but when they stayed there overnight they were so bored they opted to stay at Bard.

At long last, son has decided to go to Wesleyan. Yay!
