Chances at LACs

Hello everyone! I'm new here (first post!) so I thought I might get some chances at some of my top schools.

About me:
Basics: Female, caucasian, junior at top private prep school in Florida (~25% to Ivies, ~90% to Top 50)
Semi-interesting: Triple citizenship, have lived in 3 countries, tri-lingual and currently learning two more (English was my 2nd), immigrant, parents and I are only people from our family in the US

Stats:
SAT: 2340 - 800/740/800
SAT II: Taking in June (expecting all be mid-700s)
GPA: 3.7/4.2 - I know this seems very low, but keep in mind my schools rigor, so in context it's not as bad as it seems (but still low)
APs: 1 sophomore year, 3 this year, 3 next year (most rigorous schedule will be checked)

ECs:
Equestrian: 12-15 hrs/wk, several state/regional awards
Volunteer at hippotherapy center
Board member of a charitable foundation
Clubs: JSA, co-founder/president of service club

Concerns:
Low GPA and high SAT - apparently biggest discrepancy my school has ever seen
Few/focused ECs - Instead of the usual laundry list, I only have a few things. Equestrian is clearly my passion, and it unfortunately doesn't leave much time for other activities.

What I'm looking for:
Small student body (<6000)
Rural location
IR/IS major

*Colleges: *
Middlebury
Bowdoin
Amherst
Dartmouth (I know it's not an LAC)
Haverford
Davidson
Colgate
Bucknell
Connecticut College

If there's anything I left out, please so ask. I would also love any suggestions/feedback as to colleges for my list.

Have you by any chance looked at Carleton? It seems to fit all of your requirements and it’s a top 10 LAC (of course, I’m biased…). Also, I’m surprised that Williams isn’t on your list - it’s probably the most rural LAC there is. I would also recommend looking at Grinnell - another underrated school.

Either way, I think you have a good shot at getting into some of the schools on your list. You have solid stats, IMHO, and you would definitely be a competitive applicant. Have you visited any yet? I’m only a little surprised because some of them seem really different, especially in feel

I think you’re in very good shape. You have high SAT scores, and a strong GPA as well. Of course many of these schools are very competitive and impossible to “chance” but I would be surprised if you didn’t get into a bunch of these schools. Focus on writing good essays, and with strong recommendations you’ll be doing great. Best of luck! :)

The only ones I have not visited are Haverford, Bucknell, and Davidson. Of the ones I have visited, my favorites were probably Middlebury, then Dartmouth, then Amherst, then Colgate. I also did visit Williams but scratched it off my list because it maybe a tad too rural, and the campus was very dead (it could just have been the day though).

I think Williams is worth taking another look at.

Your list looks great. If a quarter of your class goes to Ivies, it’s likely that your GPA isn’t as bad as it seems, especially when accompanied by those SATs.

And if you fall in love with any of these schools, remember that applying ED is a big boost.

Your GPA doesn’t seem low at all…since when has a 3.7/4.2 been “bad”? I had a 3.6/3.84 GPA and still got into some top schools.

I really don’t know much about those schools besides Amherst and Dartmouth, but I’d say you have a decent shot at those, and most likely the other ones, since I have no idea about those colleges.
