Midnight Math seminars? I’m not questioning the validity, just the sanity.

11am - 12pm?

@SugarBubbleTea

I’ve checked multiple websites regarding these names and contests, and either he is the real guy, or he’s impersonating someone who has been able to accomplish all of this. Because there is one name tied to all of these accomplishments

@Buggie111 just out of curiosity, how did you find me elsewhere?

@20more I’m dismissing your comment entirely but just for the record, I’m not Asian.

Hi guys~

I’m a freshman and I’m finishing AP calc BC this year and I’m taking multivar over the summer. So I have an open spot in my schedule for college math class(es) during the nine month school year (Aug-June) of my sophomore - senior years. So my questions are these:

Does a normal college math class last a single semester?
If so, I have six open slots for math courses. What would I put in each slot chronologically speaking?

Thanks

That corresponds exactly to what I said…

The only difference is that I was able to open more slots for college courses. It logistically worked.

Well, you’re overly qualified assuming a 2000+ SAT score.

Exactly, this ■■■■■ has been lying about test scores and classes and schools and grades and activities for over a year now on CC. You can’t actually buy this lol

It’s very easy to find some stuff online, and use it to create a faux identity. It’s called catfishing

@SugarBubbleTea Why do you think he’s lying? His resume is very impressive but nothing about it screams out ■■■■■ to me. If someone else online has the same credentials, why don’t you think it could be him?

@PurePhysics congratulations on your accomplishments. I’m sure you know that you have excellent chances at those schools. I can’t really add much but I’ll say that 1) I believe you and 2) barring some major fiasco next year, I’d be shocked if you got rejected at more than a couple of the places you listed.

@RandomHSer because if he was who he was, he would have no need to create this thread in the first place. He could easily have one of his professor friends contact someone at his desired schools. If you have perfect test scores, a perfect GPA, and perfect ECs, there is no need to make this thread unless you are a ■■■■■

I’m not sure about that. I’ve worked with a math professor at the university that I will attend next year and he flat out told me that his rec would help me a lot for his school, but not a ton outside of that. It does seem like @PurePhysics has done (a lot) more mathematical work than I have, but getting recruited for math is no mean feat. Having good GPA, ECs, and test scores isn’t always enough and considering that the OP is still a sophomore, he might still not be sure that these will be perfect (though he seems very capable).

And even if he created this thread partly for a bit of an ego boost, is that the worst offense ever?

Wow this is amazing. I’d be surprised if you didn’t get into the school of your dreams! Good luck

Don’t listen to SugarBubbleTea…s/he has been shooting everybody down one way or another from what I can see. You’re an excellent human being and I have no doubts that you will get farther than most of us posting on this thread here right now :).

Athletic and a math genius!!! I would ask you to have my babies, but I’m a guy…

As for some advice, get a 23XX on the SAT which should be manageable for you. For SAT IIs I would recommend Math IIC and Physics. US History is also a manageable (Pure, Brute-force memorization) 800 (and it would give you a slight edge in the “Humanities” type stuff).

I honestly don’t think community service is that important in your case. I think the purpose of community service is to demonstrate that you have fulfilled your responsibility as a human being to give back to the community and world that you have been raised in (which you have obviously done not only through tutoring, but also your contributions in research).

With your ability I HIGHLY recommend that you enter some math/science competition. An impressive win in a big competition (I hear) will pretty much guarantee you a spot at MIT.

Don’t really worry about PSAT… It’s easy stuff IMO…Although you should at least take practice tests (SAT practice tests, not PSAT, that way you study for both…) to get the feel of things.

Other than that, you could look into heading some sort of science club at your school, which would give you that leadership color…

If you are a ■■■■■, I hate you for wasting my time, but I’ve honestly wasted more time on dumb video games etc.

Even if you did all this they are still reaches. Try curing cancer

@ooohcollege please don’t waste everyone’s time with idiotic comments…
