-Caucasian female*
-from the Midwest (Michigan)*
-GPA: ~4.35 (~3.75 unweighted)*
-all honors/AP core classes*
-major extra-currics: Yearbook (Editor-in-Chief) [our yearbook has won many state awards], Tennis, Varsity Forensics (broadcasting), Robotics, National Honor Society*
-ACT score: 32 (will take SAT and SAT subject tests Physics & Math II)
-volunteer work: summer 2011 trip to Haiti (where I will additionally be able to practice my French to some degree), relief work (providing free day care for poor kids, painting murals, gardening, picking up trash, food banks) in Detroit, middle school Forensics coaching, local art center summer camp counselor, Safety Town summer camp counselor (over 200 hours total)*
-started Haiti relief club at my school (am president of it) where we fundraise for Haiti and some will make the trip to actually give relief firsthand
-work experience: babysitting (so far); am applying to several venues as a lifeguard/swim instructor or a waitress/hostess
-interested in engineering; will most likely apply to the McCormick School of Engineering*and Science
-sufficient writer (for the essays); for the supplement (why I'd be a match for NU) I plan on discussing how it has a top-notch engineering school, which I want to pursue for a living, and yet I would still be able to surround myself with its high-quality journalism program as more of a hobby [note my high school involvement in yearbook, broadcasting, writing].
-good student; my teachers will probably write me good recommendation letters</p>
