If my family of four makes more than $100,000 a year, how likely is it that I’ll get into Questbridge? I’m Asian and my grades and extracurriculars are pretty solid, but I’m definitely not poor.
The chances of anyone getting a match scholarship are extraordinarily low. They typically (only?) go to students with EFCs of 0. So your chances of getting a match scholarship approach 0%.
But depending on what assets your family has, and how close to 100k on the mark that income is, maybe you could be a finalist. But I doubt that, too.
QB typically looks for families making 60k or less. The mean income is much lower.
Zero. Questbridge is for poor students. You are not poor.
About 10 of my son’s friends applied through QB and none received it with far lower income than you. A lot of those were retired parents. The only one who was a finalist and got a match was qualified for free lunch. The app is a big deal to complete and I wouldn’t waste my time on it if I was you.
No chance.
What socioeconomic obstacles?
Is it Questbridge or Gates Millenium that requires that students be Pell eligible?
Gates
Thanks everyone!
