Additional info: no legacies from ND, but my family has had the same season tickets in our family for 50 years, fairly decent donors; I also attended ND Vision this summer if that helps (?). ND is so much more than a dream school to me honestly. It sounds cliche, but it would seriously mean the world if I got in

ND has risen to ridiculous heights–average SAT is now over 2100 so it is a possible if your school goes to bat for you and calls admissions to say it is your number 1 choice. BC should be attainable. Vandy and UVa are unlikely but I’d bet that you will get into Miami of OH and Marquette.

Should I just have my guidance counselor write about my interest in ND in her report? Or does she actually have to call admissions?

Bump…

Another bump…

Notre Dame (first choice)- reach. you may want to try and increase your SAT score to 2100+ to be seen as a truly competitive candidate

Boston College- reach, but more likely than ND

Vanderbilt (probs won’t happen)- reach. less likely than BC, but more likely than ND

Virginia- match

Miami OH- MAJOR safety

Marquette- safety

Another bump…I just want more opinions please!

Might also look at Holy Cross-top25 school 1 hour from Boston. HC is a smaller version of ND BUT easier to get into. Holy Cross offers great combination of academics and athletics like ND. Holy Cross has a fantastic alumni network for jobs and grad school and its sports teams play most Ivies. The Holy Cross campus is very nice and the website is informative.

Okay so I got my November SAT scores back and my writing section was the only thing that improved (700 to a 730), so I didn’t get the 2100 I was hoping for. Do I still have a shot at Notre Dame RD?
