Hi, I am a male 9th grader at a small private Catholic high school in Colorado Springs, Colorado. I am applying to Exeter, Taft, Andover, Loomis Chaffee, Deerfield, Salisbury School, and many others. My first language is Italian and I lived there for almost 7 years. I am fluent in both Italian and English. I am currently studying Mandarin Chinese. Furthermore, I am taking the most difficult courses that are possible for a freshman to take at my school.
I scored on the 96 percentile on the SSAT (December 9, 2017) version.

Verbal: 797 / 97%
Quantitative: 767 / 81%
Reading: 731 / 94%
Total: 2292 / 96%

Courses:
English 1 Honors: A-, though, discussing my grade with my teacher after break as I believe there were some mistakes
Algebra 2 Honors: A+, highest in the class ever (99%)
Introduction to Engineering Design: A+, highest in the class (99%)
Biology: A
Theology 101: A
World Geography: A
Mandarin Chinese: A+

Achievements that I listed on the gateway application:

Made in on the varsity football team as a first year player

Learned how to trade on the FOREX market at 12 and I am becoming very successful at trading

Taught myself algebra 1 and 2, geometry, and pre-calculus (the reason I am not taking AP Calculus AB at my current school is because they did not let me as I would exhaust all their mathematics courses by sophomore year. As of now, teaching myself macroeconomics and microeconomics

Will be participating in the National Economics Challenge this year

Have been an avid snowboarder since 6, won many local competitions

Recently had my very first Lincoln Douglas meet. I placed 5th place as a first time debate ( no previous novice nor varsity experience) in a varsity meet.

Voted as the freshman class president.

Working with Catholic Charities of Central Colorado to set up more volunteer opportunities for teenagers in the Colorado Springs, Colorado area.

Very active volunteer at the local soup kitchen, Marian House Soup Kitchen.

Set up a fundraising partnership for the 2021 class of St. Mary’s High School with Chipotle. Furthermore, I am in the process of setting up additional partnerships with other restaurants, the most prominent one being Chick-Fil-A

You’ve got it all. Geodiversity coming from an under represented state, bilingual, and lived abroad. Varsity football as a freshman and Class President. 2 Varsity sports.Top SSAT percentile. I’d say your chances are good at all esp if you are full pay. Please let us all know how it turns out for you.

Thank you very much! Do you believe I should emphasize on FOREX trading (it is like trading stocks, but rather than stocks you are trading currency pairs)? I feel that it is something that has the potential to greatly set me apart from the masses.

FOREX trading is definitely something unique! However, regarding your achievements, is this exactly how you wrote them up on gateway? I feel that saying you became ‘very successful at trading’ is rather subjective. Also, don’t say that you ‘will be participating in the national economics challenge this year’.
