Applying to: (in order of preference)
1. University of Michigan
2. University of Texas-Austin
3. University of Washington
4. Notre Dame
4. Johns Hopkins
5. UC system (if they have common app), else UC san diego and UCLA
6.University of Florida
7. Oregon State (instate)
8. University of Oregon (cuz I'm instate)
What I wanna do with my life? (in order of preference)
1. Cardiology
2. Dermatologist
3. Pulmonary Medicine
4. Oral Surgeon
5. Endodontist
6. Orthodontist
7. Prosthodontist
^so as u can see, I really really wanna be a doctor/dentist. Since I wont get into med school however, my back-up plan is to be a consulant.

What do I want to major in?
Pre-med/Pre-dent/Biology

Can anyone tell me what my chances are for all my schools? Please dont comment on my age even though I know this is early. I'm just really concerned about my future after I f***** up my sophomore year. I don't wanna be an idiot who doesn't get into med school, so please be brutally honest.

Secondly, do any of you have suggestions about what schools I should apply to now that u know more about me?

thanks a lot for helping me!

How can you have projected 3.6 while you only have several Bs?
I think you're in at UW, don't know about other colleges.

Work hard 11th grade, and try ivies.

california_love8:

UCB/UCLA: Slight Reach (out of state)
UCSD: Match (out of state)
UCI/UCSB/UCD: Safe Match (out of state)
UCSC/UCR/UCM: Safety (out of state)

Well, your U/W GPA is 3.875 in academic (this doesn't count PE or Health courses), and you're on track for a 4.21 Univ of California GPA, and about a 4.3 regular weighted GPA.

You have great chances at a lot of these schools--but until you start taking more of your IB courses and take your SAT tests--I wouldn't start planning on applying to any Ivy league schools just yet.

As far as the schools you listed--here's my estimates so far:
University of Michigan--match
University of Texas-Austin--slight reach (out-of-state)
University of Washington--match
Notre Dame--match to slight reach
Johns Hopkins--reach
UC system (if they have common app), else UC san diego and UCLA--yes they have a common app--so:
UC Berkeley/UCLA--slight reach to reach (out-of-state)
UCSD--match to slight reach (out-of-state)
UCSB/UCI--match (out-of-state)
UCD--safe match to match (out-of-state)
UCSC--safe match to match (out-of-state)
UCR/UCM--safe match (out-of-state)
University of Florida --depends on test scores--probably slight reach
Oregon State--safe match
University of Oregon--safe match to match

but without test scores and the junior grades these are just guesses as much as "chances". Post next year when you get your grades.

P.S. Why are the negativity about getting into medical school? You haven't even finished junior year of high school and you are already writing this off?--that's ridiculous. You can get a great pre-med program at a lot of the schools listed--and then you can have a great shot at medical school--I say make it happen--don't be so quick to say "no way".

A few great medical programs on this list are at John Hopkins (of course), UCLA, UCSD, and Michigan. None of the others are slouches, either.
Even UCSC (near where I live) has a great biology program. I think you've picked an excellent list to apply to personally--although which schools you apply to can change as you get grades and test scores this coming year.

Good luck.
