Chances at Transferring in?

Since I was three, all I have ever heard from my dad was how great Cornell was for him and how going there would be the best thing to ever happen to me. I'm really nervous about my chances of getting in--my credentials aren't nearly as stellar as some of the ones I've read on here. I don't know how everyone else manages to be president of every club ever known to the existence of man, do many hours of community service, spend a semester in Japan, speak five languages fluently and still maintain a 4.0+ GPA! Anyway, what do you think are my chances of getting into Cornell? Here are my comparatively limited qualifications/stats:

Transfer Student; Art History major (CAS)

Fall '03, SUNY Albany
GPA: 3.5

Spring '04-Fall '04, SUNY Orange (two year CC)

EC/Volunteering:

Elementary level Odyssey of the Mind coach

Work: Pier 1 Imports, Waitress at a local restaurant

Excellent recommendations from the head of the art history department and the president of the college and strong essay (I hope?)

What do you think? Any shot, or am I stuck with SUNY Bing?

i dont know much about transfers but the GPA is certainly good even @ CC, shows you're serious. do they still care about test scores? if so those could be helpful

I called and asked, and they said that at this point they don't need test scores anymore. I didn't bother as such. I remember the verbal was much higher than the math--my HS teachers elected me as the best writer in our class my senior year, but unfortunately, I'm not exactly as competent when it comes to numbers. =P At any rate, I don't really recall the exact scores for either, but I know verbal was in the mid 700s and the math was in the mid 600s.

I transferred here last fall and my SAT was much lower than that, so it's not much of a factor. The main thing was level of courses at other school and how well you did, at least academically.

They gives prefrence to people from two year CCs, so you're probably in good shape. I also believe transferring into Cornell isn't all that difficult. Good luck.

bump... they give preference to two year schools?
