Chances at Transferring into Cornell Engineering?

Hi, I posted a message like this a few days ago in the Cornell forum, but this is a better place for it.

I am currently a female freshman from New Jersey at Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology. I would like to transfer to Cornell in Fall of 2006. I'm a Computer Science Major, but I decided to switch to Information Science, Systems and Technology because a). I want to go into business, not just a technical field and b). that's what I honestly WANTED to major in before I decided to go to Rose and thought I could just do CS.

HS Stats:

private, all girls college prep academy

maintained a 4.2W GPA senior year, 3.8UW cummulative for high school

was on the honor roll 11/12 quarters

was inducted into the French Honors Society sophomore year for 2 years of membership

SAT: 710M / 670V
APs: Calc AB: 5; Physics B: 5

ECs:
- Math League (9, 10, 11, 12)
- Student Council Treasurer (12)
- French Club (9, 10, 11, 12); Council of Officers (11, 12)
- Physics Bowl (11, 12)
- Winter and Spring Track and Field (10, 11, 12), Jr. Captain (11) and Sr. Captain (12)

Also had a job at a local ice creamery for 3.5 years, about 5-10 hours a week.

Now college..

Fall quarter, 3.38 GPA (Dean's List)

Winter Quarter, 3.15 GPA, 3.29 Cum

Taking lots of classes that will hopefully transfer over (Calc, Physics, DE, Computers classes, etc).. will hopefully have about 30 credits transfer over

I did drop a class this quarter, but I explained it as nicely as possible that it wasn't really working for me and my schedule.. hopefully that will be accepted.

ECs:
- Chi Omega fraternity - active, Song and Spirit chair
- Intramurals (Chi Omega team member)
- Track and Field (Team member - thrower)

I also have a job as a Homework Hotline tutor.. I work about 3.5 hours a week offering free help to middle and high school students over the phone.

I've also visited the campus once and am going to visit again to meet with more people to show how much I really want this.. I'm relying a lot on my people skills to pull through for me.

So what do you think????

What were your grades in the science/math/tech courses at Rose Hulman? Also, I am confused- would you be a CS major at Cornell or an Info Sci major. You probably have a fair shot at transferring, but A's in the major courses as opposed to B's would help a lot. You've proven that you can function and do quite well at a good school in a technical major, so that is a big plus.

Yeah, I know A's would be much better.. I am trying my hardest to do as well as possible but the rigor of Rose is getting at me. :)

I would be an ISST-MS major at Cornell.. no one has ever transferred into this major before so this is kind of a big deal - they don't have any pre-reqs that they know would create a "recipe for success" for my major, so that could be viewed as a detriment. However, since I have had such an extended technical background at a rigorous engineering school, I might have what it takes to transfer into this field and create the mold for future students wanting to get into the program, which I think is really cool.

I have an "interview" tomorrow with 2 people in engineering admissions.. hopefully that will go over well. :)
