My counselors really liked my essays, so those are okay, I'm a National Merit semifinalist, student council representative, math club secretary, Mu Alpha Theta honor society, National Honor Society, Latin National Honor Society, Key Club, volunteer at Manatee Memorial Hospital (200+ hrs), 350+ hrs so far in all volunteer services, National Youth Leadership Forum Medicine (washington d.c.), might do Harvard Model Congress Russia if accepted, State Champions Varsity Tennis 2004, district champs. 10-12, regional champs. 11-12, Tutor students at my school in math, science (job)

So, thats some of my stuff, I have awards of excellence and things like that, but these are the major extracurriculars and awards. Also, I'm Indian from Florida- want to do medicine, trying for those programs too...i'd appreciate the honesty...im retaking my sat's in december and im gonna study for this one...so, please, any advice, or any idea on how i'll fare in applying to the ivies would be great...THANKS!

college list: dartmouth, tufts, bu, davidson, georgetown, rice, lehigh, u. of miami, usf, emory, wash u in st.louis, and brown

I'd say you're borderline.

got ACT's back, got a 30...not what i was hoping for...borderline at tufts, or everywhere?

I'm sure you can clearly distinguish the highly selective from your safeties. All of your elite institutions you've listed are going to be rough, but you might get into a few of them. Your safeties however, are definitely in.

ummm...sad as this may sound, i dont know which ones are my "safeties"...im guessing tufts, georgetown, dartmouth, bu, davidson, rice, emory and brown are selective...so usf, lehigh, and miami are the safeties?

Dartmouth - reach
Tufts - possible match
BU - match
Davidson - match
Georgetown - possible match
Rice - possible match
Lehigh - match
U. of Miami - match
USF - safety
Emory - match
Wash U in St. Louis - reach / possible match
Brown - reach

wow...that would be incredible if i got into my matches and a couple of my possible matches...namely tufts and gtown

applying early would greatly improve your chances for Tufts, but not so for Georgetown.

Dartmouth: Reach
Tufts: Reach/Match
BU: Match
Davidson: Reach/Match (esaays very important)
Georgetown: Reach
Rice: Reach/Match (they look at Essays and recs closely)
Lehigh: Match/Safety
UMiami: Match/Safety
USF: Safety
Emory: Match
WashU: Reach
Brown: Reach

Just my 2 cents. Hope this helps you a bit. Good luck. :)

for davidson, im using the common app, and the only questions are the 3 short answer...how long do you think each should be? anybody applying to davidson and wanna tell me or anything...oh, btw, there are 7 ppl applying to BU from my school and 5 have above 1400 (1420, 1460, 1470, 1510, 1530), and i know schools never accept 7 applicants from one school, so im guessin that basically wrecks my chances there too? im hoping to get into tufts, but if i wanted to do early, id have to do early decision II, which isnt til jan. 2...and i wont have heard back from any other schoosl by then

bump bump....
