As an in-state Asian male, what are my chances at:

UC Berkeley
UC San Diego
UC Santa Barbara

Lemme do a number crunch here:
UC Berkley-21.3%(using the Gaussian-Bessel least square determinants)
UC San Diego-38.43%
UC Santa Barbara-45.87%

I have noticed that you are an Asian male, have you considered UC Irvine?

stats?.....

i believe you are a match at EACH!!! i've seen tons of asian people at each of those schools that you mentioned. it's like you were made for that school. (im sorry for the sarcasm but how is anybody supposed to chance you if you don't give any information about yourself except for your race/where you live. )

UC Berkley : Reject
UC San Diego : Reject
UC Santa Barbara : High reach (they prefer Asian female, sorry!)

Competition is out of hand these days. You really have to sit down, look at your stats, and say: how can I market myself in order to have the best chance at acceptance?

So lets seperate your application into focus areas and look at the different parts in detail.

In-state
First off, you identify yourself as in-state. Well, let me tell you, staying in California is a great accomplishment and your hardwork will pay off. In fact, it will give you a distinct advantage. Being in-state ups your odds of acceptance by 24.321929202% (+/- .00000343%). Good thing you didn't give up and just move. A wise man once said, "When the going gets tough, the tough get going".

Asian
Now let's move on to the next focus area of your application. You are Asian. This can be construed as good or bad. Lucky for you, AA is banned at all public schools! Therefore, in this particular situation, this important part of your application is neutral.

Male
The average male scores higher than the average female on the SAT, so you'd think you'd be at a disadvantage. But you, Elliot, you are in a unique situation. The SAT isn't even a part of your application! Neither are any other standardized test scores--and for that matter--neither are GPA, ECs, volunteering, or hooks.

Way to keep it simple, and good luck.

With your stats, nothing is impossible. Shoot for the stars!

Hahaha!

mj93 ROFL.

haha wth? is this guy serious?
