chances at University of Washington?!

<p>GRADES:
GPA: 3.597 :(
two college in the high school classes
6 AP classes total, 2 junior and 4 senior year
got a 3 on apUSH and 4 on APEngLang
now taking: APStats, AP Physics B, AP Englit, APUS Gov</p>

<p>SAT (took it twice, first time got only 1860. second score was):
R: 650
M: 620
W: 650 (9 essay)</p>

<p>ACT:
27 :(</p>

<p>EC's:
-1400 hours of service working with kids (positions of VP and secretary held; 4 awards won, 1 of which was quite large and required a huge speech to be given)
-school clubs my junior year
-DECA club senior year
-highly selective community service organization my senior year
-mentoring/"link crew" my senior year</p>

<p>ESSAY:
Essay was corrected and hopefully perfected. Wrote about my community service and why I initially started (hopefully an inspirational story? :P haha)
Short Answer was on how my background (parents moved from USSR) helped me to understand the value of an education</p>

<p>In-state</p>

<p>That's all I can think of. It's my #1 choice</p>

But you do have lowish SATs and GPA
so I would say low reach, maybe?</p>

<p>haha, my SAT score is around/above the UW average
it’s just my GPA and classes that worry me :&lt;/p>

<p>I’d say you’re a decent match. If you have an excellent essay, you’ll likely be a shoe-in, but you’re fairly stable in terms of test scores otherwise.

<p>I’d say you’d be a reach although your essays could possibly get you in if it’s spectacular.</p>

Be thankful you’re on the happy side of UW’s ~60% acceptance rate. </p>

<p>UW- high match, not guaranteed so look for other options like Western if you wanna stay in state</p>

<p>I definitely think its a high match BUT your essays (from what you say) seem a bit bland and unoriginal. Good luck!</p>

<p>I think you have a really good shot at UW, just make sure you have wonderful essays and ill bet that you’d get in!</p>

you took a lot of rigorous courses, SAT is good enough
plus, the community service hours is a wow factor! :smiley:
