Chances at UPenn, Columbia, and other top schools?

I go to one of the top schools in the Philippines. We can’t choose specific courses but I am in the most rigorous program.

GPA: 95/100
Rank: 7/800+

SAT: 1530 (retaking)
Math 2: 800
Physics: 750
Literature: 740

Your GPA and class rank should be fine for Columbia and Penn. Your subject tests are great and your SAT score should suffice (I wouldn’t bother retaking). Your ECs are lacking a bit, however. They are competitive, yes, but nothing wow. You are a competitive applicant but so is everyone else. Apply, but remember they are reaches and you need matches and safeties.

As an international student, I believe you’ll have some competition. First off, I wouldn’t advise retaking the SAT. The difference between a 1530 and a 1600 is negligible and will only make a fraction of a difference when it comes down to the final decision of either acceptance or rejection. You SAT Subject Tests are spectacular, not perfect, but perfect isn’t expected of college students, not even ivy league students.
To address your EC’s, they are a bit lacking. Just make sure your Essays are spectacular and your recommendations make you seem as if you’re one of a kind and the type of student these top schools want.
