Chances at US and UK schools

<p>I can only judge the UK schools, so here goes: </p>

<p>Be obsessed with your subject (and I mean obsessed) and you'll have a shot at Oxford. Or that's what they say, at least. Keep the academics up as high as you can too, because British universities look down on American qualifications quite a lot. </p>

<p>Other than that, I don't see why you shouldn't get into LSE or Oxford, although I would recommend looking into Cambridge; their admissions process seems a bit fairer than Oxford's and they take more chances on 'underqualified' but passionate people (if that makes any sense).
