My essay is about my heritage- I am half Puerto Rican and have limited contact with my Puerto Rican parent. Needs a little more tweaking.

I want to go to school for elementary education and international relations. I have contacts at Wellesley and went to Discover Wellesley Weekend on a travel grant. Chances of getting into Wellesley?

Hm… I’m another Wellesley hopeful, but here’s my two cents based on the statistics I’ve seen (you can look at Wellesley’s FAQ online and Admissions info for verification).

Your SAT’s are a little low, though Wellesley does employ a supposedly holistic method of selecting applicants. I think Wellesley’s average is about 2100, which converts to a 30 ACT score if you’ve taken that. Additionally, if you aren’t submitting the ACT, Wellesley requires 2 additional subject tests aside from the SAT itself. I only see one result, posted, but perhaps you are aware that there’s two required.

Now, as for the other academic stats…
do you have class rank available? Wellesley typically selects candidates in the top 10% of their class.

Is it possible to have a more rigorous course load at your school? I visited Wellesley and spoke to the admissions counselor and she said that if your school offers the IB Diploma Program and/or many APs, 5-7 AP/IB a year would be an excellent indication of academic rigor, though fewer AP classes wouldn’t necessarily kill your application.

As for the rest of your stats, the EC’s look good. How many hours of recorded community service do you have? Do you expect academic recommendation letters from counselor and teachers to be good?

I can’t really chance you until I know all of the extra information, sorry!

Regardless, good luck :)

Class rank- 30/171

I know I have good recommendations from my teachers/counselors and I am getting a letter from the director of Durham Children’s Choir.

There is no IB program at my school. Scheduling prevented me from taking AP Music Theory, AP Euro, and AP Human Geography, which I had planned to take this year.
Thanks for the feedback!
