Ok…
Now I’m applying to the following schools:
-California Institute of Technology (Early Decision)
-Rice University (Early Action)
-Boston Univeristy
-UC Berkley
-UC Davis
-UC San Diego
-UC Los Angeles
-Cal Poly SLO
-MIT

Ok…how do I get into these schools??? I really really really want to get into CALTECH…how do I get in?? I also want to get into Rice if not Caltech…
For what schools should I do ED/EA???

Thanks for responses!!!!

oh i forgot to mention:
200+ hrs of community service for Ec's.

please leave responses..................

To put it bluntly: you won't get in.

They will worry if you get a B+ in a science/math course. How are you going to explain that D in Calc I and that 3 on AP Chem exam? URM status doesn't weight that heavily at Caltech.

wow ok so caltech is definitely out huh?
wat schools should i be applying to for engineering?
would rice ED be possible?

doubt it. aim lower like ucd or cal poly or comm. college if u want to.

CalTech really doesn't care about URM status. If you're interested in JPL, it might even hurt you.

Almost nobody with more than a B in any math/science class has a poor shot. Oh, and 96% of Techers go in having performed research at some university. It's unlike ANY other school. I'd apply to MIT instead.
