****Basically, I'm having a lot of doubts about acceptance because of my CR SAT score. I've tried showing interest however. I've been emailing their lacrosse coach (not as a recruitment, but a possible walk on) And I have my on campus interview next week, which I have to nail. Please chance back

I think that you have good chances, but the fact that you took the SAT 3 times and only got a 610 on CR is disheartening.
Why do you want to go to Hamilton? I saw that Vanderbilt was your first choice. In my mind, they aren't very similar schools.
Also, do you have a hook?

Either way, I think you do have good chances, but those are some things to think about. Constructive criticism-type stuff. Good luck! I'm counting down the days until February 15 as well, but I'm really hoping they let us know early! =]

yea, they don't know for sure that i'm muslim. maybe i'll talk about it during my interview. and lacrosse might be a hook...i'm talking to their coach

Being Persian isn't considered being a URM, though. So it's not exactly a hook. Such as, I'm Caucasian/Native American/African American, which could be considered my hook. Unless the OP actually goes into it, I doubt he [I'm assuming] would get any special consideration.

yeah dardar- if i were you i would definitely discuss being muslim and how that makes you unique in your community....

i wrote and essay for _______ University and basically spoke about how being a Catholic Republican in Brooklyn NY has affected my life (I consider myself independent but come from a republican family...)

well floee---i think you have to figure at a school of <1800 students there cant be that many persians...I think that may have some weight but im not saying wait for a letter that says "Congratulation! You're Persian! C'mon over!!!"

hi question for dardardelight....
im 100% persian and out of curiousity,, what did you put for your ethnicity on the common app?? i was having a little difficulty there...

Sorry to jump in, but from what I understand, Persian is considered Caucasian even though it is technically in Asia. If that bothers you, check other and write Persian.
