I was rejected from my ED school.
I want to apply to Midd ED II. Should I? Do I have a realistic chance of getting in?

also, my recs are bomb. My English teacher gave me the highest marks possible AND she went to Middlebury…heh…that probably doesn’t help that much, but ah well.

anyone? bueller?

Where did you apply ED to?

You look great, I think you have an excellent chance.

cool! would it be a good idea to apply ED II? or should I stick with regular?

Is Middlebury absolutely your number one choice? If yes, then apply ED II but if you have another “dream” school or a school that you equally want to go to, then apply regular in case you later figure that you really really want to go to that other school instead.

Yes. It is. But how much of a real advantage do you get by applying ED anyway?

Well if it’s absolutely your number one choice, then why care about advantages? Just apply ED II; just think of it as showing interest and just finding out results earlier.

I don’t think the EDII admit rate is that much higher than RD, but I can’t speak to the differences in the quality of the applicant pool. I think less than 50 were admitted EDII last year, but I can’t remember how many applied.

I think the point is getting it over with, if possible, so one can stop obsessing on this topic, and get to new one-like shoes, or the health care system…For us, with #1 son not finding out his college til May, it was a desperate desire not to repeat that experience…With Parl’s scores etc, if she really likes Midd, I’d be tempted.
