What school are you applying to?

I have a pretty similar application as you, and I applied Early Decision and didn't get in :(

<a href="http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/new-york-university/435341-rejected-but-why.html%5B/url%5D">http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/new-york-university/435341-rejected-but-why.html</a></p>

From what I see, your GPA is much higher than mine, as mine is only a 3.6 weighted. Other than that, our credentials are pretty close. I'm also in the IB Diploma Program with a packed senior schedule, while maintaining varsity sports, many clubs, and leadership positions. I have good work experience, and I spend very productive summers traveling and at summer programs. Father is also an alumnus.

I was very sure I would get in, especially under Early Decision. But I was outright rejected, not even a GSP offer. I also applied to CAS, the easiest school to get into in NYU. Before 2 days ago, I would have said you are a sure bet. But after I got my rejection letter, I would approach this with caution. Certainly apply! But this year has had the highest turnout of applicants in history and the competition is harder than ever. So be sure to have a good amount of backups, because these days, NYU can be impossible.

Good luck!
:)

CAS...really sorry about your rejection mr. frizzle. I hate when people don't get into schools they applied for...

flip a coin. heads = yes tails = no...it's nyu dude nobody knows; they're morons over there. it's a total crapshoot

Jask:

Perhaps you are taking on too much. For such a "good" curriculum and GPA your AP scores are mediocre at best.

CAS is not the "easiest school to get into", but I think you'll get in. Your GPA and APs are pretty good, but there are plenty of people with 4.0s and 5s on lots of tests (and better SAT IIs), so that could be a reason.

Also, with the APs, keep in mind that you only get credit if the score's a 4 or a 5, so NYU may not even care if you score below that.

please please chance me too! i have a post. haha cus i'm so clueless.

you're in, ill say 90% sure

ill say GSP...and thats a maybe.

nyu seriously wants OUTSTANDING students with outstanding grades, meaning 700+ on all sat 1 and sat 2....so if you dont have that, its pretty much 50/50

Ho' fo' sho'

I would say that you have a 70% chance. The only thing that might hurt you are your SAT II's and AP Scores (I wouldn't report the bad AP scores)
