Chances for a friend

I've posted here before and I wanted to relay my friend's information here because she's very nervous about college. She's the type who gets nervous for no reason -- she is one of the most brilliant minds (adult and young adult alike) I've ever come in contact with, and she has passion and she's driven. Once she gets motivated she does it, and that's just how this girl is. She's an amazing person all around with impressive statistics, and I just want an evaluation of how you think she'll do. Here are her stats:

LIST OF COLLEGES
Columbia
NYU
Barnard
GWU
American
UofMaryland
Tufts
Boston U (Brother currently enrolled)
Brandeis
Scripps
TCNJ

intended major: DM Spanish-Journalism or Poli Sci-Spanish

what are your thoughts? she has a very extensive list of things going for her and I think she's got a great shot at some of these schools. so give us the downlow and tell us what ya think.

shameless bump

From what I've read, I'd say she stands a good chance at all except Columbia - her ECs and SAT's (I's and II's) are a bit on the lower side of the applicant pool, though she still has a chance with her outstanding academics.

bump.. anyone else? thanks sidjenks btw :)

If she's into POlitical Science and IR she should go to Tufts; it seems like she'd have a pretty good chance of getting in, too.

Barnard
GWU
American
UofMaryland
Tufts
Boston U (Brother currently enrolled)
Brandeis
Scripps
TCNJ

She is in all of those.

Match for NYU if she wants to do finance there.

Columbia reach.

um wow your school weights so heavily...
everyone above is right...

this is about me... so yeah. any more thoughts?

Columbia - reach
NYU - in (safe match)
Barnard - in (safety)
GWU- in (safety)
American - in (safety)
UofMaryland- in (safety)
Tufts - in (or waitlisted if don't show enough interest) (safe match)
Boston U (Brother currently enrolled) - in (safe match)
Brandeis - in (safety)
Scripps - in (safety)
TCNJ - in (safety)

Not enough reaches / too many safeties.

BU is a safe match but Brandeis is a safety? As much as I love BU, no. Brandeis is a match, BU is a safe match.

It doesn't seem like all of those are safeties/safe matches. And since I'm already applying to 11 schools, adding more reaches would be a little crazy.

Slight change in plans

Cut:
Barnard

Add:
Duke
Stanford

bump bump bump :)

Everything seems great........except the SATII...... maybe you should try retaking, or different subjects ??

BTW.... Duke and Stanford are reaches ... not because you're not good enough, simply because they are reaches for every single applicant

The SATI is quite a bit below average for Duke and Stanford. As the ECs are also weak, I see little chance at those 2. Other than Columbia, the original list was realistic for a white girl from NJ.

uhm. dual citizenship.

Israeli.

barnard is the most selective women's college in the country. it's not a safety.
