My GPA freshman and sophmore year was 3.2 (all honors both years, all B's or A's) and then i got a 4.0 junior year with 7 classes (max able to take). I go to an extremely competitive (named one of the best schools in the midwest and top 50 in nation) private school.

-Writing 750 (11)

ACT: 36
SAT II:
Math 2: 800

Taken 4 AP's and gotten 5 on all: Bio, Biopsychology, Macroecon, Microecon
I am also planning on taking 3 more AP's next year (Physics, Bio, and Stats) And I will most likely get a 5 on all.

Played soccer for Jaguars and won 4 championships
Internship at Bioengineering company
4 week intensive Biological research at University of Chicago
semi finalist for region for Siemens competition
MMPC part I top 100
MMPC II top 200
I have some more that i cannot think of right now

I am extremely good at writing essays and dealing with interviews

I know i havent inputed all my stats but i just want a rough estimate if i would have a chance at Stanford

Who are you? You have a frickin' perfect score on the ACT and almost perfect on the SAT! You got it in the bag. You have spent time pursuing your ECs and you know how to write and interview. Sounds good to me...

See this is exactly what I HATE about chance threads. This person has a 3.5 GPA that's like a B+ average! How can you guys say (s)he has a shot at Stanford? It makes no sense! So (s)he did well on the SAt that does not make up for such a low gpa. I mean to even think of Stanford you have to do better than a B+ average... What would ya'll say to aperson with 650-700 on every section on SAT for Stanford BUT a 4.0 in like 7 AP classes and all honors (like neomanxl? No shot right? But doesn't that person hard work and dedication for four years mean more than taking a 4 hour test well. If she has a 9.8 or more with those SAT scores then YES good shot but otherwise NO WAY!!! Maybe at lower ivies but not Stanford!

koolmaria139...the flaw in your reasoning is you assumed that all high schools are equal in difficulty. A 3.6 GPA from one school may be much more impressive than a 4.0 in another school. This is Cranbrook, one of the best private schools in Michigan and in the US. Plus, grades, albeit important, are just one part of the app. Stanford looks at apps holistically. The OP has a rising trend in grades which looks good. Test scores are fine.

Btw neomanxl, what year were you a siemens semifinalist?
