I am currently a freshmen at suny esf. Id really like to transfer to SUNY buffalo because I dont want to pursue science anymore, and im really not liking the school. Im hoping to transfer in the spring semester. My high school gpa was a 90 and my sat score was an 1830. I am currently an environmental biology major. Although I obviously dont know my first semester college grades, chemistry is hard for me and I expect around a C+. My bio and writing classes are difficult as well and I would expect B's in those classes. I find my math class and elective easier and hope for A's in both those classes. Overall I would expect a 3.0 gpa for the first semester. Could anyone tell me my chances of being able to transfer to SUNY buffalo this spring?

Im writing this mainly to see if anyone knows anyway to help my chances, even if I already have a solid chance. Like if buffalo allows talent showcases or interviews. I figured this forum would be the place to find out

How many credits do you have? If you have more than [i think] 15 credits than your high school gpa&sat’s is irrelevant.

I transferred in for the Spring 2013 with success: I had a ~3.4 GPA (but i also had clubs&achievements to help)

Honestly, I think you would have trouble transferring in with a 3.0 GPA. I would recommend doing extra-curriculars that would make you stand out more…like joining clubs or somethin.

Here is some admissions stats from parchment on UBuffalo:

good luck

I just got accepted with a 2.8 GPa.
Did you get accepted?

My daughter also transferred to UB from SUNY ESF after 2 years there and got in with a 2.5 (her gpa is now 3.7 so if ESF is a lot more difficult than people think)

With those grades, you should try stony brook

Hi, I’m looking to transfer into SUNY Buffalo from SUNY Albany. I plan on transferring for the fall of 2014, I’m a freshman undergrad. I currently have a 3.67 GPA for my first semester and I will have completed 30 credits by the end of the spring semester. I’m also the founder and president of a club, and I’m involved in other clubs as well. Can someone please let me know what my chances of acceptance are?
