Chances for admission to Colorado State University, CU Boulder, etc.

Currently I have a 1220 SAT, and a 3.6 overall GPA.

However, as you dive deeper into my transcript, the trends in it show that I’ve been doing okay first semester (2-3 A’s, 2 B’s and 1 C) and doing better 2nd semester (Same results, just that C turns to a B). This is for all three years so far. I’m currently in my senior year and I admit that I’m a bit discombobulated this semester. As a result I now have 2 C’s. One in adv physics and the other in AP Euro (which is my first AP class ever). In the event I do improve those two C’s in the second semester, what are my chances for college at CSU or CU Boulder?

(PS: CSU has an additional prompt asking you to explain if “your grade trends have varied”. Does this weird grade trend of ok first semester grades and better second semester grades warrant an explanation?)

You should get into both schools.

You should get into CU Boulder but I’m not aware of CSU. Though I do know CSU gives their decision quickly so that’s nice. For the question you’re asking about grade trend, yeah, I think your situation applies and if you make the supplement strong enough, talking about how this trend has been influenced by your hopes to do well in college or whatever it is that has caused this good change, you should get into CSU.

Good luck!
