I can't speak for the other Ivies, I had no desire to apply to them. However, I can tell you that I was accepted at Brown with a 1480, A's in all classes but one (two B+s and two As in that class), a smaller, but dedicated list of ECs.

It's all about your personality and how you come across in your writing if you ask me. I see people freaking out on here about getting into places all the time (I hope I never made a thread like that, but looking back, I can't be sure I didn't!) but the truth is-- with your numbers, and with almost anything I've see on these boards, you can get into just about anywhere. The hard part is actually getting in.

It's 1 part chance and 2 parts personality, if you ask me. Be yourself, and let that shine through on your application. Don't let Brown or any school you'd really like to go to force you into writing a canned response. When you personality comes through, that's when these schools can and will judge you far more accurately.

And btw, Ivies aren't everything. Especially being international, you may want to look at other top schools in the United States that offer scholarships and are starving for more international diversity. Not to discourage you, as I will be attending Brown, but just make sure you shop for a great fit, not a great name. Sometimes, the fit will come at a better price too!

Goodluck to you, and I wish you the best. Try not to worry to much and just make sure that you spend the time to write your essays-- they are what make you unique more often than your resume ever can.
