Chances for an international student

I graduated from high school in April this year. I enrolled in a college in India but plan to apply to Dartmouth for the class of 2010. I have to apply as a freshman since Indian colleges do not have a credit system. I have been top 1% in the class since class 5, graduated with 96% from highschool and have got various awards for academics.

MCGS scholarship for academics : Class 9,12
Special prize for consistency in Academics: Class 11

Special prize for securing 96% in ISC - Class 12
Subject prize for computer science : Class 9,11,12
Subject prize for geography : Class12
Subject prize for economics : Class12

Designed a poster and website for a tea company

During my year off, i am taking a diploma course in law, doing community service and working on sales and advertising section of a tea company.

Can you please assess my chances?
P.S. I require financial aid.

Okay, that's much, much better than my stats, from what you've offered, and I'm going to Dart this fall. On the other hand, I'd imagine that many competitve applicants come from India. Where are you SATs? GPA? Are you sure that you can apply for first-year entry if you have already enrolled at a college?

How much financial aid you need?

We dont have the concept of GPA but I manged a 96% in ISC examinations which is considered very good. I am still to give SATs.
I need approx half the cost as aid.

If you need half the cost, then I'm guessing you have a great shot, assuming your SATs reflect your academic success and you write good essays.

What do you think would be a good enough score for me at SATs

Agreed with Paladin.....

I got 1520 (old SAT I), and 800 in all three SAT IIs. I'd guess at least 2250 in the new SAT and average 750 in your SAT IIs.

You have a good chance of getting in.
Dartmouth welcomes international college students to apply freshman, actually, on their website, they say int'l college stu can only apply freshman not transfer, and somehow can transfer credits after being accepted...
