<p>I'm a senior from Long Island, New York. I'm Caucasian, a female, and only one of my parents attended college. I have no former family members who attended Yale or Brown.</p>

current AP classes: English Literature & Composition, Physics B, Calculus BC.

Awards(school): Principal's Honor Roll, Excellence in World History, Excellence in Photography.
Awards(regional/national):Well's College 21st Century Leadership Award, National Merit Commended Student, AP Scholar with Honors, New York State Scholarship for Academic Excellence.</p>
<p>Extracurricular/school involvement: NJHS, NHS, Treasurer for the Academic Team, designed shirts for the school plays, created artwork for school's fashion show fundraiser, Show Choir, HMEA (regional chorus made of kids chosen from various schools), art classes at a local art studio, choir (outside of school), participated in the Challenge Quiz Show (regional.... we didn't do very well), painted a school window for the holidays.</p>
<p>I am involved with volunteer work at a local church (I have designed invitations, stuffed backpacks for homeless kids). Also, I was the chairperson for the "Stuff-A-Platoon" Holiday Drive at my school. Additionally, I have sewn aprons for autistic kids.</p>
<p>I am applying as an art major, and have taken classes at Pratt and FIT. My work has been shown in various student shows at several galleries. And yes, I am submitting a portfolio.</p>
<p>Yale and Brown are both reach schools for me... I know I'm missing some leadership rolls and volunteer work, but there's nothing that I can do about it at this point. Chance me? I haven't applied to either yet, but I interviewed at Yale over the summer (it went so/so).</p>
