I’m going to be honest with you. You have a very good chance of getting. The only problem I see is that youre not unique. In real life I am sure that youre a great girl that I would love to get to know. But colleges want huge amounts of diversity and that doesnt really show on paper for you. But regardless I would be down right shocked if you didn’t make it. Your grades are great and show your intelligence!

Emma; you sound great; what you’ve given us is a list (some incredible stuff) of your accomplishments. What do you want from a college? What are your interests? Crazy amount of community service hours; but doing what? Hopefully something that you loved!
Science, music, dance…bring it all together, so that others can see your excitement in why you’ve been involved in what you’ve been doing.

Just curious… have you visited the other colleges in the tri-co (Haverford/Swarthmore)? Your accomplishments seem well aligned with the other two. I’m sure you won’t have a problem getting into BMC–according to college board they accept over 40% of applicants and you seem to have standout academics. I, personally, can’t really see your “unique-ness” getting in the way at BMC (especially since I’ve heard their science programs are strong, so they might want you for those interests), but if you applied to HC/Swat then it could be an issue.

I’d say you have a very good chance of getting into BMC. I’m sure your grades and scores are well above the average of their accepted applicants–and they don’t get many applicants with your stats, I assume.

I have 2280 on the SAT and good IB grades (although my ECs are rather modest), and BMC is my safety school. (Of course I chose BMC as my safety because it is good ;p)

I think the actual atmosphere and overall experience of a college should also be considered rather than focusing exclusively on GPAs and test scores. Bryn Mawr offers a really fantastic environment that cannot be replicated at other schools, including the Seven Sisters. That is why I chose Bryn Mawr and that is the same reason I know several other students have chosen Bryn Mawr over institutions like Cornell, Yale, etc. Find a school that fits your academic desires but also fulfills your other needs and can provide a space that encourages you to make the best of your college experience. Bryn Mawr does an excellent job of fostering a supportive, inclusive community that isn’t readily available at many other schools.
