Chances for Clemson Scholars Program?

<p>I am applying to Clemson this fall and really (like really, really, REALLY) hoping I am asked to come interview for the Clemson Scholars Program. However, from what I've heard, getting accepted to Clemson would be no problem, getting accepted to the honors college with my scores should still be no problem, and getting into the NSP is like getting into Harvard or Yale. Sooo, needless to say I'm thinking about that a lot. Here's what I've got.</p>

<p>Academic awards and honors:
Highest honor roll
4.0 grade point average (on an unweighted scale)
Ranked #1 in my graduating class (as of the end of Junior year)
Member of Talented and Gifted (TAG)
Member of National Honor Society
President of National Honor Society
Recognized in The Belin-Blank Exceptional Student Talent Search (BESTS) based on ACT score
National Merit Scholar Semifinalist based on PSAT scores
3rd Place in the Junior Division at Northwest Missouri State University's annual math contest
State MATHCOUNTS qualifier in 2009 & 2010
Chapter MATHCOUNTS Champion 2010
Test Scores:
ACT: 34
SAT: 2150 with writing, 1430 without, 800 on math--- I plan to take it again in the fall
National Merit Semifinalist (to the best of my knowledge... since it's not official until September. My scores for my state should qualify me with no problem, but you know how that competition drags on and on...)

Proud band member at Clarinda High School
Member of Cardinal Impact, a character building and service leadership club at Clarinda High School
Former 4-H member
Active member at Hillside Missionary Church and The LIGHT Youth Group

Sunday School teacher at Hillside Missionary Church

Special Talents:
I love finding ways to get a variety of people involved in a project by putting individual talents to use
I can look at a problem from multiple angles and explain it in different ways to make a solution clear to everyone
I am very goal-oriented and determined when I set my sights on something in all aspects of life, from getting in shape to solving a complex math problem
New ideas and concepts excite me and I am quick to take on challenges
I love inspiring others and helping them to look at obstacles with a new perspective
I would say I am innovative in the sense that I often quickly see many possible other uses for new concepts and technologies-- for example, the iPad's practicality for musicians in reducing the amount of physical sheet music needed, or the one-rope harness technology used in indoor rock climbing walls being mimicked for more efficient tree stand safety for hunters
Work:
Tutor at Clarinda Middle School during my sophomore and junior years
Office assistant at Crawford Real Estate
Private math tutor</p>

<p>Basically this is what I've got on my application to the college itself, not the honors college, but I understand they look at both applications for the NSP. Is there anything format- or wording-wise I should do improve this? Anything I should leave out? Also, does any section look particularly weak that I can work on this school year?</p>

<p>OH. And also, I will have 5 APs and 2 college classes complete by the end of this year, plus a pretty heavy math and science high school transcript. I'd be going as a math major.</p>

<p>Thanks for any and all feedback!! It is really appreciated as this is definitely something I want! <3</p>

<p>For a math major, I apparently can’t subtract… My SAT without writing would actually be 1480</p>

<p>It’s definitely a competitive program and I have no idea how to judge your chances. Here’s what it says about typical applicants on the National Scholars website though: [Selection</a> Criteria | Clemson University, South Carolina](<a href=“http://www.clemson.edu/academics/programs/national-scholars/selection/index.html]Selection”>http://www.clemson.edu/academics/programs/national-scholars/selection/index.html)</p>

<p>Good Luck!!</p>
