Chances for Columbia as Homeschooled Student

This post will be a little bit different from the usual "Chances for Columbia" post, since I'm a homeschooled student.

The usual stats:
SATI: 740V 710M 760W
SATII: 700 (Math IIC) 780 (Literature) 720 (Japanese w/Listening) 720 (US History)
JLPT (Japanese Language Proficiency Test): Level 3
Class Rank: N/A

Classes I will have:
4 Years Math
4 Years English (Have not taken AP test yet)
4 Years Science
4 Years History
6 Years Foreign Language (Japanese)

I have taken online classes through Stanford, and have received an A or A+ in each course (courses in English, Math, and CS). My Japanese lessons are through a private tutor. I also plan on participating in a summer program which will give me an external grade/evaluation.

Extracurriculars - not as many as some as I am homeschooled, but a few unique/interesting things.
I have run an Internet-based business since I was 13. I do advertising/marketing and have designed software that has been featured in magazines, on TechTV, and countless websites. I have been the most popular download on a number of directories at different points.
Political Volunteering
Helped put together computers/internet for senior citizens
Worked at local animal shelter

Ethnic Group: Caucasian/White
Region: Cleveland, Ohio suburb

Any input/suggestions would be great. I've still got another year to beef up my record. :)

Columbia admissions are very selective and unpredictable, but I think you are in the running. The Internet biz sounds like it could be worked into a pretty good hook, and some community service that relates to the tech area is a plus. I don't think that being homeschooled will hurt. I've always thought that Columbia looks for students that are a little "different", and your profile could be a little more intriguing than some. Spend some time thinking of how to explain why Columbia is the best school for you, and what you can contribute to the campus community. Good luck!

Why can't more ppl be as encouraging as Roger Dooley?
