<p>So, I haven't fooled myself into thinking my stats are good enough to get into Columbia, as it's a top 5 school and I have only above average grades. However, I am applying to the film studies program, and I'm wondering if my chances would change at all because of that.</p>

6 APs: AP Chemistry (lab and lecture, 4 on AP), AP European History (4 on AP), AP US History (4 on AP), AP Government, AP Environmental Science, and AP Statistics
SAT: 2020 (96th percentile for writing)
SAT Subject tests: 720 (US History), 740 (Molecular Biology)
Attended two UCLA Digital Film workshops (regular and advanced) for college credit and received A's both times</p>
<p>ECs:
-Over 115 hours of community service.
-Vice President of two clubs, one of them being a film club that runs a local film festival and the other being a community service based club.
-Four years of swimming
-Two years of water polo, won MVP for defense</p>
<p>I currently live in America and I was born in America, but I've spent most of my life overseas in Hong Kong and Tokyo.</p>
<p>I've shown my essay to many of my teachers, and they all said it was spectacular.</p>
<p>There's also a possibility that I'll get a good letter of recommendation from some people high up in UCLA.</p>
