<p>I don’t think it is a question of whether you have a chance for admission, clearly the GPA and test scores, as well as the academic rigor, makes this a solid match. The question is wheher you might be elgible for their Fellows program. The only thing I would caution, based upon a very recent conversation I had with someone in Admissions, is that you don’t appear to be using Elon as a safety. They seem to be sensitive and aware of the safety applications, although I am not sure how they could identify them. If you show a true level of interest in the school through visits, class visits, etc., I think you would be fine. Good luck!</p>

<p>Oh, no! Elon is not considered a safety. Son is very sincerely interested. He attended the road show at hotel near home last winter and visited in person this summer. </p>

<p>My D liked Elon as well but did not get a feel for the campus during the tour since it was the summer session. We are going to return in either late September or October to vist the campus again, see it when it is at full speed and sit in on a class, lunch with a student, etc. It is a huge commitment to make for 4 years so the more exposure she can get to the campus, the better.</p>

<p>Well interesting - I have to disagree that he is a shoe-in, and I don’t think you need to worry about Elon being labeled a safety for him. Visit - Show interest and understanding for what makes Elon unique. They are bigger on community involvement that just sports leadership, so if he can demonstrate helping his community or a cause it will help him.</p>

<p>Good solid match but not a safety. Very good chance of getting in ED, pretty good chance with EA. RD is just harder and harder to gauge. I’ve seen some kids on this board with really outstanding records get waitlisted or rejected in RD.</p>

<p>From another site, I read that Elon accepts a fairly large % from EA/ED. So, if Elon is your first choice I would suggest applying either EA or ED. Although, my D had a friend who applied ED and was then waitlisted RD (did get in off waitlist).</p>

<p>If he’s certain, go ED, if not EA. Elon accepts most of it’s freshmen class with those two deadlines.</p>

<p>The ED option at Elon has a due date of November 1st, earlier than any other school we have looked at. D loves Elon but will probably apply EA just to give her a little breathing room. However, as a teenage girl, she reserves the right to change her mind repeatedly without warning.</p>
