Thanks for the response!

Is Wayne State really that hard to get into? I was under the impression that it is an often overlooked program.

just curious whats the point of these med programs? This is honestly my first time hearing that these things even existed.

15 slots for Wayne State Guaranteed med go to Wayne State students, plus 2 from MI Tech and 1 from Northern Michigan.

These programs essentially allow you to be admitted to the university’s medical school 4/3/2 years before you even step foot into the med school. With these programs, when you finish your bachelor’s degree you don’t have to worry about whether you will get into med school or not because you already have a spot reserved for you. As about 65% of people that apply to medical schools are rejected from every school they applied to, this type of acceptance guarantee is very valuable and as such is very competitive to obtain. Typically, acceptance rates for even mediocre guaranteed med programs resemble those of HYPSM undergrad. The good ones (i.e. NWU, WashU, Brown) are even harder.

Wayne State Guaranteed Med: Match/High match

wayne is very attainable with your stats. the only problem is that they only accept 1 or 2 oos students per year. the process isn’t easy, but you just have to rock interviews. Your top 50 interview will be via phone. the top 30 interview will be in person at the SOM.
