Chances for International student: UC Berkely, UCLA, UC San Diego, UC Irvine, NYU, Emory and more

*Update: I got a 760 on my SAT 2 Chem :slight_smile: not satisfied but quite happy

Would this, in any way, affect my chance??

@12345n‌ thanks :)

760 is a really nice score, it might help :)

@meriks‌ thanks :)

bump?

So your sats are quite good and often above average, but maybe a touch low for wash u. And although some of your ecs are impressive, you tend to lack leadership positions in them and it would also look better if you had been part of your activities for a longer period of lastly. Lastly, as Im sure you heard your GPA is low. Anyway, best of luck :slight_smile: also I have know idea how paying in full factors into UC decisions.

Wash U- reach
Emory- low reach
Notredame- low reach
NYU- high match/low reach
UCSD-match
UCI-match
UCB-low reach but if paying is as big of a deal as you say it is then match (same with UCLA)

** UPDATE: I also have two German language certificates (B2(C1 is the highest from A1, A2, B1, B2 and C1) and TestDaF)

Will this possibly make any difference?

bump

BUMP

I think a C1 in your german language certificate may affect your application, I guess. Colleges love to see upward trends in your academic grades. You have a really good sat I and sat II scores though your gpa is pretty low for the U.C colleges that you are applying. I wouldn’t worry about the certificates if I were you. Other than that, Your E.C’s are really good as well.

UCI- Match ( You’ll probably get in)
UCSD- Match
UCLA- Reach
UCB- High Reach ( UCB is a high reach for anyone even with perfect stats).
UIUC- Reach

I don’t know much about the other colleges.

Best of luck getting in!

@sai6ks‌ Thanks :)

Your GPA isn’t competitive for UCB, UCLA, UCSD, NYU, or Emory.
GPA’s are quite important for UC’s along with residency. Given this, not being an instate resident puts you at a disadvantage. I believe being able to pay your tuition in full will appeal to most UC’s.

UCI - match
UCB - reach/high reach
UCLA - reach
UCSD - low reach/reach , kind of hard to say because of all of the above factors (stats vs ability to pay vs residency)
Emory/NYU - low reach

(p.s. good luck!) :slight_smile:

@tameyourshark‌ Thanks! :)

Also, does 13 years of piano count as an EC?

Yeah dude, it does. Have you received any certificates in piano?

@sai6ks‌ no i don’t
i just performed at school concerts but i don’t have any certificates

I made a new thread because of information i hadn’t been able to add

I’m sorry man I really don’t wanna burst your bubble but with that GPA it will be a BIT hard to get in to some of the UC’S youre applying to
WashU- Match
Notre Dame- Reach
UCB, UCLA - Reach
UCI UCSD Match
UIUC- Low reach
Emory - Low reach
NYU - Match
