Chances for John Hopkins + Cornell?

If you guys could give me your opinion on my chances of acceptance it would be appreciated.

Senior, 16 years old, African American
I go to a public high-school in upstate New York

SAT: 2100
Math II: 710 US History: 720
4.0 GPA (Top 5%)
10 AP classes (including currently enrolled)

ECs:
Varsity Soccer
Varsity Tennis

So what do you think?

What is your intended major and what school are you applying to in Cornell (assuming CALS in this post)?

You’re a good applicant overall, but nothing really stands out. Try to get your SAT II Math score up if you can since a lot of applicants have 750+ if not 800 (depending on the school you apply to at Cornell).

Cornell - Low Reach
JHU - Reach

Thanks for your reply

i plan on becoming a biology major. Either applying to Human Ecology or Agriculture & Life Sciences. Which one would you recommend i apply too?

Very good chances at JHU and Cornell

i’m actually impressed by the fact that you’re a 16 year old senior. much props to you

humec and cals are both great for bio, but cals is a more versatile (for lack of a better word) school. you can major in anything from business to viticulture/enology. humec is basically all nutrition/bio/design and then one policy mgmt major. up to you

Thanks! My birthdayis December 20th so I’m actually the youngest kid in the senior class

good chances at both schools good luck

Low reach Cornell, Reach JHU. Apply ED for maximum effect!

Best of luck. I’m also thinking of being a bio major, thinking CAS? (I like the liberal arts approach in a not-so-liberal artsy school in general.) I need to look more closely at CALS; but in like three schools you can be a bio major…this gets confusing real fast, and its hard to transfer between schools (assuming I even get in, in the first place!!!). Subbed for interest.

In the meanwhile, if you feel like chancing me back…I’d love it. Thanks!

Solid chances. Best of luck!

Good awards, decent EC’s and decent test scores. Not to be racist, but I feel that you will have a great shot due to the fact that you are African American and 16 years old; it definitely paints a picture of you being an unique individual!

Cornell ED: You’re in.

Thanks for all the responses - Im still not sure if i want to apply to Cornell ED though.
I don’t know if its really my first choice.
